Spring has officially sprung (which isn´t saying much considering the lack of winter this year)! But the days are getting longer, the nights are getting warmer and the Gran Canaria cumbre is fully in bloom with wild flowers and fresh, spring air.
It´s a perfect time not only to enjoy the monthly events, but to check out some of the gorgeous nature around the island, like Charco Azul, Barranco de las Vacas and Moya!
I´ll be adding new events all month as they come to my attention, so don´t forget to bookmark this page for updates.

Discover Artenara: One of the island´s most beautiful mountain village will be showcasing their charm and culture all weekend. Stop by not only to see the beautiful views and unique cave houses, but to visit the cultural fair full of local gastronmy like cheese and wine, as well as a craft and artisanal fair.
Fiesta de San José y La Santa Cruz in Teror: Travel back in time to pirate attacks and burning ships in honor of the carpenter saint, San José. Festivities begin in the afternoon and continue on for an impressive firework display in the evening.
Tomato Fair in La Aldea: La Aldea de San Nicolás will be celebrating their tomato harvest with plenty of gastronomy and fun from 9:00. There will be tastings, live music and, of course, plenty of tomatos.

An Ode to April
Spring in the Canaries is truly like nothing else. With the buzz of romerías, the delight of warm beach days, hiking trails scented by flower blossoms and the many musical and cultural events to explore, get out there make the most of this April in Gran Canaria!
